Legendary Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Tyron Smith is expected to retire a Cowboy, according to reports.
Smith is expected to sign a one-day contract and retire with the Cowboys after 14 seasons in the NFL, NFL Network reports.
Smith is a five-time All Pro and eight-time Pro-Bowler who played 13 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before spending the 2024 season with the New York Jets, NFL Network reports.
A press conference regarding Smith is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Star in Frisco.
Smith was the ninth overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft out of the University of Southern California, starting his NFL career as a right tackle for the Cowboys, dallascowboys.com reports. He stayed in that role for one season before becoming a fixture on the left side of the Cowboys’ line for the next 12 years, according to the website.
During his time with the Cowboys, Smith earned Pro Bowl honors for seven consecutive years from 2013-19, and was a two-time AP First-Team All Pro, according to dallascowboys.com.
