SAN ANTONIO — Spurs excitement is reaching a fever pitch in the Alamo City with the NBA Finals set to tip off Wednesday night—a rematch of the 1999 championship series between the Silver & Black and the Knicks.
Unless you snagged a ticket to the game, it’s likely most of San Antonio will find themselves in front of a screen when the action tips off at 7:30 p.m. CT.
The question is: Where can you be in front of a screen and also with your fellow Spurs faithful as the team hunts its sixth championship? Here are the family-friendly opportunities to catch Game 1 action around the Alamo City.
The Rock at La Cantera
The community space outside the Spurs’ northwest-side training facility is again welcoming thousands of fans to catch the game on its 40-foot screen or smaller screens set up in the adjacent parking lot.
The Rock’s parties have been thriving on the Spurs vibes all postseason long, complete with giveaways, food trucks, appearances by the Coyote and Hype Squad, and DJs.
The team is also hosting watch parties at Frost Bank Center for the away games.
Civic Park
For those closer to downtown, Spurs excitement will also take over Civic Park with watch parties for every 2026 Finals battle.
The action will unfold on a large LED screen at the park, which will also have food options and a family-friendly environment. Like the watch parties at The Rock, the Civic Park events are free to attend.
If you plan to go ,expect to enter the park through designated entrances in the Promenade area of Hemisfair that connects to Civic Park. Bags, purses and strollers could be inspected; no outside drinks or coolers are allowed, but families are welcome to bring blankets.
Tobin Center
The Will Naylor Plaza where family movie screenings are held over the summer will switch out the Hollywood for the Silver & Black for a Game 1 watch party. Fans are welcome to arrive to the plaza outside downtown’s Tobin Center starting at 6 p.m.; the action will be shown on its 32-foot LED video wall by the River Walk.
You’re welcome to bring your own chairs and blankets. Concessions and special Finals-themed cocktails will be available on site.
Mexico Ceaty
The newly opened culinary hotspot at Riverwalk Mall is welcoming fans to enjoy the action on one of 16 screens at Dos Cantinas. The bar is offering limited-time, Spurs-themed margarita flights to perfect the experience.
