WATCH: Spurs’ Wembanyama shows frustration after road loss to Cleveland

The competitiveness to win is what Wemby is all about.

SAN ANTONIO — It was another tough loss on the season for the San Antonio Spurs after coming up short to the Cavaliers on the road, 117-115.

During their recent game, the Spurs made a furious comeback late in the fourth period using an 11-0 run to close the gap with the Cavs.

It came down to the final seconds the team could have potentially won the game after a Wemby key block and a Jeremy Sochan desperation half-court shot that came up short.

After the final buzzer sounded, a fan at the game (on X at @norip_p_) captured the team exiting the court and as Wembanyama was set to go into the tunnel, he yelled in frustration.

Here’s the moment from the now-deleted post.

The desire and competitiveness to win is what Wemby is all about. Following the Spurs’ home win over the Lakers on Dec. 16, he made it clear: He is addicted to winning.

“This is what I’m addicted to, winning. This is what I love,” he said. “It’s what I live for, so I have to show it.”

It’s not just Wemby, all of his teammates don’t want to lose but continue to get better as the season moves on and express their appreciation for Silver and Black fans for sticking with them.

“Obviously, the season hasn’t been easy. We just got to stay with it and we appreciate you guys,” Devin Vassell said.

For Spurs fans, they must enjoy seeing his firey, competitive side even in a loss.

Hopefully, the team can add more wins to the season and see Wemby shouting for joy instead.
