SEATTLE — It might be the offseason for the Seattle Kraken, but it has been anything but uneventful for two of its members.
Video posted on Kraken Mascot Buoy’s X account shows them and Kraken forward John Hayden fishing with other fishermen.
What looked to be a normal promotional shoot suddenly turned a bit chaotic, as they later saw a grizzly bear approaching them.
The video shows everyone moving away from the bear, which came closer to them and eventually growled.
The video then shows the bear charging at Buoy and everyone else with its back turned before slowing down and eventually leaving them be.
No one appeared to be hurt in the video.

Hayden signed a two-year extension with the Kraken before the season ended, but it could be safe to say that the bear experience with Buoy may be one of the more exciting things that happened to him this offseason.
Thankfully, the Kraken won’t face any bears during the 2025-26 NHL season, which starts September 21 against the Vancouver Canucks.
