Some Cowboys fans were less than thrilled about the pick Thursday night.
DALLAS — Dreams came true Thursday night for many players, including Alabama offensive guard Tyler Booker, who was selected No. 12 overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The pick, however, drew mixed reactions from fans.
WFAA sports reporter Michelle Montaine was at Tostitos Championship Plaza at The Star in Frisco, where Cowboys supporters shared a wide range of opinions on the selection.
“You have a chance to—one: draft a weapon—and you don’t take him?” one fan exclaimed. “Matthew Golden, he’s here in Texas. Draft him! Draft him!”
The fan then went on to suggest the Cowboys could have also taken quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but continued to double down on the need for offensive firepower.
“We need weapons!” the fan added. “When we went and got Amari Cooper, we looked like something new. We need weapons!”
Others reacted to the pick with more optimism.
“I like the pick,” one fan told WFAA. “It’s not the sexiest pick, but it’s a good pick. He replaces [Zack] Martin right away. You’re going to get a Pro Bowl offensive lineman in the future. Would I like McMillan better? Yes. Golden? Maybe. But Booker—I think he’s going to be really good for the team.”
While the first-round pick may not have satisfied everyone, there are still six more rounds to go, and the Cowboys will have plenty of opportunities to appease their fans.
