The Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair ended early due to forecasts of critical fire weather conditions in South-Central Texas.
SAN ANTONIO — The Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair ended early Sunday due to weather forecasts and alerts in the area, officials said.
Organizers released a statement Sunday afternoon explaining that the event was shortened due to the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service, which warned that strong winds and dry air could result in critical fire weather conditions across South-Central Texas. The Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair ended at 5 p.m. and was originally scheduled to run through 10 p.m.
“We apologize for any inconvenience. Our first priority is the safety of the fans and those associated with making the event possible,” the statement read.
The Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair was expected to take over Hemisfair for four days with nonstop music, culture and puro orgullo. The free festival proceeded as scheduled Thursday through Saturday.
