Weekend closures across Loop 1604 as the North Expansion project continues

SAN ANTONIO — Get ready for more road closures this weekend as the Texas Department of Transportation continues work on the North Loop 1604 Expansion Project.

If you are using any of these roads, make sure to plan accordingly and perhaps use an alternate route to avoid frustration.

The announced closures will take place between Friday, April 11 at 9 p.m. until Monday, April 14 at 5 a.m.

The closures will be on Loop 1604 in North Bexar County at Hausman Road, the Interstate-10 interchange at Loop 1604 and also Loop 1604 at Stone Oak Parkway.

Here are the areas affected:

Loop 1604 at Hausman Rd. 

  • Loop 1604 eastbound main lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Loop 1604 & I-10 Interchange 

  • Loop 1604 main lanes and frontage roads will be closed in both directions from 9 p.m. Friday until 9 p.m. Saturday.
    I-10 westbound main lanes will be closed during overnight hours (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.) throughout the weekend.
    Loop 1604 eastbound main lanes and frontage road will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.
    The flyover ramp from eastbound Loop 1604 to westbound I-10 will remain open all weekend.

Loop 1604 at Stone Oak Parkway

  • Loop 1604 westbound main lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

TxDOT says they try to schedule the closures at times of day that will the least amount of impact on drivers. They stress that all access to businesses in the areas impacted will remain open during the construction. There will be a police presence to help with traffic flow. If they get done with the work earlier than expected, the roads will be reopened accordingly.
