SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs and Victor Wembanyama recently announced a new fan section at the Frost Bank Center to showcase their fandom at home games.
“We’re building something new, something powerful, something that will be the heartbeat of every home game,” the Spurs say of the fan section, adding they’re looking to create “the loudest, proudest and most relentless crew of Spurs fans in the building.”
It is inspired by European soccer megafans – including Victor Wembanyama’s club of choice, Paris Saint-Germain and will be in Section 114.
And Wemby is urging Spurs icon Manu Ginobili to join.
“We got a spot saved for you, Manu !! For everyone else Tryouts on Sunday 7-9 am at Frost Bank!” Wembanyama on X.
We’ll see if Ginobili does make a pit stop at the new section, but fans can see if they have what it takes to join.
Tryouts for the group are scheduled for Sunday at the Freeman Expo Hall, with registration taking place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Frost Bank Center. You’ll need to RSVP in advance here.
