Victor Wembanyama isn’t just having a star season — he is the star now, earning his first All-Star Game start and putting San Antonio back in the national spotlight.
SAN ANTONIO — Victor Wembanyama’s rise just added another highlight.
The NBA announced Sunday that the Spurs’ superstar will start in the 2026 All-Star Game, his second straight selection and first as a starter.
Wembanyama becomes just the sixth player in franchise history to earn a starting nod, joining Spurs legends George Gervin, Alvin Robertson, David Robinson, Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard.
He’s earned it with monster numbers: 24.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and nearly three blocks per game, while shooting a career-best 51.6% from the field. He’s the only player in the NBA averaging 20+ points, 10+ rebounds and 2+ blocks.
And if you’ve tried to score on him lately… yeah, good luck. Wemby has blocked a shot in 101 straight games, a Spurs record and the third-longest streak in NBA history.
The 75th NBA All-Star Game tips off Feb. 15 in Los Angeles, featuring a new U.S. vs. World format.
From rising star to centerpiece of the show, Wembanyama’s takeover tour rolls on.
