SAN ANTONIO — One year ago, Westover Hills Baptist Hospital welcomed their first baby born in their hospital’s history.
And now, that baby has taken its first steps in the hospital he was born in.
Westover Hills Baptist Hospital opened last year, and Miles Levi Lopez was the first baby born.

Now, to help with their one-year anniversary, the hospital welcomed Miles back to the place he opened his eyes for the first time.
And Miles decided to take some of his first steps for the first time back on hospital grounds.
Since Miles was born shortly after the hospital opened on July 30, 2024, more than 300 babies have been delivered in the hospital.
Staff surprised the 1-year-old Miles with cupcakes, balloons and lots of fun for him on his and the hospital’s special day.
An anniversary celebration event is also planned to take place Wednesday.

The hospital has also performed more than 1,300 surgeries as well as assisted more than 22,000 ER patients in their one year of service.
“We are proud to commemorate our one-year anniversary of serving the Westover Hills residents,” said Brady Phillips, Westover Hills Baptist Hospital CEO. “We are excited to continue growing alongside the community with a wide array of medical services that are meeting the increased demand for maternity, medical, and procedural needs in of the population in this area.”
