What the heck was seen streaking across the Houston-area skyline Monday night?

HOUSTON — It was a quiet night in the KHOU 11 newsroom on Monday — that was until we started getting inundated with calls and Facebook messages about a bright object streaking across the sky, creating smoke rings.

Did you see it? We want to see your videos. Share them by uploading them via the NEAR ME feature on the KHOU 11 app.

Melody Canedo spotted it flying over Richmond, and Efrom Betancourt spotted it near Scarsdale and Beamer.

Was it a falling star, a comet, a satellite or aliens?

Though any of those would have been cool to see, especially the aliens, we learned that it was a SpaceX rocket that launched Starlink satellites.

The rocket was launched in Florida but took a flight over Texas during its trip.
