What time do Mexico and Paraguay kick off at the Alamodome, and what’s not allowed in? What to know before you go.

The Tuesday match marks El Tri’s return to the Alamodome for the first time in six years.

SAN ANTONIO — Thousands will flock to downtown San Antonio once again to see the Mexico and Paraguay national soccer teams face off in an exhibition tune-up match ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Alamodome is hosting the international friendly, marking the first game for El Tri – Mexico’s team – at the venue since September 2019. The game kicks off at 7 p.m., with doors to the Alamodome opening up at 5:30 p.m. Venue staff are encouraging guests to make sure their e-tickets are downloaded before arriving.

Here’s what else to know before you go.

About the teams

Mexico automatically qualified for the 2026 World Cup as one of three countries set to host games, along with Canada and the U.S. Paraguay punched its ticket this month for the ninth time in tournament history. El Tri has had an up-and-down 2020s on the field, having won the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2023 and 2025 but failed to make it beyond group stage in the 2022 World Cup for the first time since 1978.

Mexico and Paraguay last played in August 2022 in Atlanta, where Paraguay scored the match’s lone goal. Mexico, however, leads the nations with an all-time, head-to-head record of 11-5-5.

How much is parking going for?

If you’re looking to nab a spot at the Alamodome for easy access, it’ll run you $60. Spots will be available in Lots B and C, but only credit card payments will be accepted.

Those needing ADA spaces can find them in Lot A; parking will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Drop-off for ramp access into the Alamodome will also be available in Lot A, with not charge required for entry if you are only dropping someone off.

Those wanting a more affordable option can use ParkWhiz to scout off-site availability.

Tailgating is prohibited for the match at Alamodome lots.

What time does VIA service start?

Luckily, Via Park and Ride will be operating for the game. It’ll be running from both the Crossroads Park & Ride (151 Crossroads Blvd.) and Brooks Transit Center (3026 Sidney Brooks Drive) stations, starting at 5 p.m. Service to the venue runs until 7 p.m., with return service ending an hour after the match’s conclusion.

The fare costs $1.30 each way.

What bags are allowed?

The Alamodome has a strict policy for what bags you can and can’t bring in for events. Among those you are able to enter with are clutch purses, clear backpacks and clear plastic bags—so long as they meet certain dimensions.

See here for what is allowed. If your bag doesn’t meet those requirements, it’s safe to assume you’ll be turned away at the door.

Are tickets still available?

Yes! Whether you’re looking for the cheapest tickets or the seats closest to the action, there was still availability via Ticketmaster as of 4:30 p.m.

The most affordable seats will run you about $53 before fees, with Row 1 seats going for more than $400. Resale tickets among the first 10 rows will run you anywhere from $107 to more than $300 a pop.
