Here’s where the Dallas Cowboys rank in Forbes’ list of the world’s 50 most valuable sports teams for 2025.
DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys may be eliminated from playoff contention, but they remain at the top of Forbes’ list of the 50 most valuable sports teams in the world for 2025.
The Cowboys ranked number one on Forbes’ list — as the team has every year since 2016 — with a value of $13 billion. That number is up 29% from last year.
Six leagues are represented among Forbes’ 50 most valuable sports teams, with the NFL claiming 60% of those places.
“If pro football is a financial freight train, then the Cowboys are the locomotive. Last season, their revenue surpassed $1.2 billion. Only one team from any sport was within $350 million of that figure, trailing by $105 million,” the Forbes article states.
The top 50 teams on Forbes’ list are worth more than $353 billion combined, which is up 22% from 2024 and more than double from four years ago.
Forbes attributed the rise in sports valuation over the last 20 years to factors like rising media rights fees, larger distributions from the leagues, sponsorships, and premium seating.
Here are the teams joining the Cowboys in the $10 billion club:
- Golden State Warriors (NBA) at $11 billion
- Los Angeles Rams (NFL) at $10.5 billion
- New York Giants (NFL) at $10.1 billion
- Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) at $10 billion
Not all leagues and teams are seeing such a rapid growth in value, though. Forbes reports the 20 most valuable European soccer clubs rose just 5% because of factors like stagnating media rights fees, rising costs and debt.
