DALLAS — All the conference championships are over and the College Football Playoff selection committee has picked the 12 schools that will vie for the national championship.
Two Texas schools made it into the 12-team bracket.
For those who did not make it to the dance, they were matched up among the many bowl games that will be played throughout the rest of December and into the new year. This season, 80 teams qualified to be bowl eligible (six wins) for the 82 spots in the bowl season.

- Rice (qualified after Kansas State University opted out)
Which Texas teams made the College Football Playoff?
Only two Texas teams made the 12-team bracket.
Texas Tech won the Big 12 championship against BYU to get the fourth-highest seed in the playoffs. They will face the winner of Oregon vs James Madison in the Orange Bowl.
Texas A&M was ranked No. 7 and will face the University of Miami at home.
