SAN ANTONIO — IMPACT DAYS: Thursday morning (April 2), Saturday and Sunday (April 4-5)
Reason: Possibility of strong thunderstorms and heavy rain
The breakdown
San Antonio is no longer facing a severe weather threat for Wednesday night heading into Thursday morning as the possibility of storms and heavy rain returns to South Texas, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
But much of the Hill Country and western communities still faces the low Level 1 out of 5 risk — including Fredericksburg, Boerne, Kerrville and Uvalde — with heavy rain, hail and potentially damaging wind gusts possible overnight. Further west, Rocksprings is under a more urgent Level 2 threat.
Thursday morning could see strong storms and showers in Hill Country communities.
Meanwhile, unseasonably warm weather continues for the rest of the week. A cold front arriving Saturday will bring a 70% chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, along with milder highs in the upper-70s
Expect it to be much cooler for Easter Sunday, when lows will dip into the mid-to-low-50s and highs will stall out in the mid-60s amid a chance for showers.
There is a slight risk for severe storms across the northern Hill Country overnight heading into the morning of the holiday.
There are no watches, warnings, or advisories at this time.
