Here’s everyone the Cowboys have reached deals with.
DALLAS — The NFL free agency period began in earnest Monday at 11 a.m. CT, when teams and players could begin agreeing to contracts, and the Cowboys have been much busier than last year.
Dallas is also coming off a big contract extension with defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa last week. Odighizuwa, who was set to enter free agency, was an internal priority for Dallas as one of the top interior pass rushers in the league.
Dallas could also be mulling a potential contract extension with star linebacker Micah Parsons, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
We’ll be tracking all of the latest free agency moves out of The Star — both with players coming to Dallas, and former Cowboys signing elsewhere. Here’s where the list stands:
Dallas Cowboys free agency signings
The Cowboys’ first official reported deal of Monday’s free agency period was with long snapper Trent Sieg, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Sieg, who played the last two seasons in Dallas, agreed to a three-year, $4.45 million deal, Schefter reported.
Sieg follows a pair of other internal free agent deals for Dallas, which re-upped Osa Odighizuwa last week, and also agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with safety Markquese Bell, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Dallas added to its stable of running backs by signing former Denver Bronco Javonte Williams to a one-year, $3 million deal, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Cowboys also plugged a hole on the offensive line by agreeing to a deal with former Dolphins guard Rob Jones, according to Schefter. Jones will sign a one-year deal worth up to $4.75 million, Schefter reported. Jones will presumably compete for the spot opened up by the recent retirement of Zack Martin.
On Tuesday, Dallas welcomed home a DFW native, former New York Jets defensive tackle Solomon Thomas, who went to high school at Coppell High School. According to Schefter, Thomas comes to the Cowboys on a two-year deal with a max value of $8 million.
Also on Tuesday, the Cowboys reached a three-year, $18 million deal with receiver and return specialist KaVontae Turpin, keeping Turpin in Dallas, according to Pelissero. The deal will make Turpin the highest-paid special teamer in the league, Pelissero said.
Another addition the Cowboys made Tuesday was defensive end Payton Turner from the New Orleans Saints, according to a report from ESPN’s Todd Archer. In his four-year career, Turner has only recorded five sacks, 30 solo tackles and two forced fumbles. Archer noted that injuries have impacted his development.
To end the day on Tuesday, the Cowboys re-signed punter Bryan Anger to a two-year deal, according to Archer. Anger has averaged 49 yards per punt in four years with the Cowboys and has been named to the Pro Bowl twice, Archer reported.
On Wednesday, Archer reported that the Cowboys made a move to add some much-needed depth at cornerback by trading two picks for former first-round pick Kaiir Elam from Buffalo. According to Archer, the Cowboys also received a 2025 sixth-round pick and gave away a 2025 fifth and 2026 seventh-round pick.
Also on Wednesday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Cowboys signed free-agent linebacker Jack Sanborn to a one-year deal. Fowler noted that Sanborn would be reunited with Matt Eberflus, whom he played under for three years in Chicago.
The Cowboys added another defensive piece by acquiring linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. in a trade with the Tennessee Titans, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The report said Dallas is swapping late-round draft picks to complete the deal.
Late Thursday night, the Cowboys reached a one-year deal with running back Miles Sanders, a former Eagles standout who recently played for the Panthers, according ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler
On Friday, the Cowboys agreed to a one-year deal with free agent pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr., according to a report from ESPN’s Todd Archer. The deal, Archer noted, is worth up to $8 million with a base value of $6 million.
