Who is backing the next mayor of San Antonio? Here are the endorsements so far.

The race for the next Mayor of San Antonio continues. Gina Ortiz Jones, a former United States under secretary of the Air Force and Rolando Pablos, a former Texas Secretary of State, are facing off in a runoff election set to be decided on June 7.

Ahead of the runoff, 27 candidates threw their names in the hat to replace San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who has reached the maximum number of terms he could serve. Out of the over 1.2 million voters, only 116,483 hit the polls to decide the future of the mayor. No candidate secured more than 50% of the vote, which resulted in a runoff.

KSAT will air a mayoral debate between Ortiz Jones and Pablos on Monday, May 21, at 7 p.m. Moderated by Steve Spriester, the debate will take place at Trinity University.

Early voting for the runoff will be from May 27 to June 3. All San Antonio registered voters can cast new ballots for Mayor. Before heading to the polls, we compiled who is endorsing each candidate.
