The 10-day festival in New Braunfels opens Nov. 7 and runs through Now. 16 in New Braunfels.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — New Braunfels is home to the historic Gruene Hall, Schlitterbahn and the Comal River. But every November its signature celebration of German heritage and Texas spirit known as Wurstfest is front and center on everybody’s mind.

Are you ready to drink some beer, eat some sausage and polka?

The 10-Day event known as Wurstfest opens November 7 and runs through November 16. 

“Wurstfest has grown from a New Braunfels tradition to a Texas tradition with over 230,000 guests making their way to New Braunfels each year to enjoy the best in German entertainment, dancing, and food along the banks of the beautiful Comal River,” said 2025 Wurstfest President Keith Werstefer. “As the Wurstfest president this year, I can attest that the Wurstfest Association wants each person who walks through the gates to create a lasting memory.”

Save yourself some money and buy your tickets online, saving you more cash to spend on beer and sausage.

Online tickets sales are now open through the whole run of the festival, offering discount pricing compared to what you’ll pay at the gate entrance. 

Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the gate for Fridays and Sundays and $25 online and $30 at the gate for Saturdays. Admission is FREE from Monday to Thursday and children under the age of 12 are FREE every day. Admission also is free after 3 p.m. on the festival’s last day, Sunday, November 16.  Wurstfest has moved to credit card payments for admission and purchases at all of the bars. No cash machines will be available on the grounds this year.

The 10-day festival is held on the banks of the Comal River in Landa Park. 

Wurstfest hours:

  • Fridays: 5-11 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 11 a.m. to midnight
  • Sundays: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. 
  • Monday through Thursday: 5 p.m.-10 p.m.

Alex Meixner and Squeezebox with Mollie B kick off the festival’s opening ceremonies and the infamous “biting of the sausage” on Friday, November 7 at 5:30 p.m. in the Wursthalle. From that point on, live music will fill every hour of the 10-day festival rich with regional, national and international talent. 

You will find German-inspired food, drink, and entertainment as well as loads of Texas family fun, complete with amusement rides and artisan shops. 

Organizers say that more than 20 local, non-profit organizations will benefit from selling food, drink and wares, with many meeting their annual fundraising goals through the generous support of attendees. 

This year, a permanent pavilion with additional seating called Wasserplatz has been installed by the large tent. Eight new food and artisan vendors have also been added, as well as three new entertainers.           

“Music has been an integral part of the Wurstfest celebration since its inception in 1961,” said Werstefer. 

 You will get the opportunity to hear from the likes of Grammy-award winning polka musician Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra; Grammy-nominated accordionist Alex Meixner; Braunfels, Germany artists Munchholzhauser Blaskapella; New York based Die Schlauberger and Squeezebox with Mollie B, who were recognized as International Band of the Year by the International Polka Association in 2019. 

 New to the stages this is year is a popular local band The Billie Jeans; San Antonio-based MacKenzies Good Time Polka Band and Bavarian-based Happy Hour Oktoberfest Band.
