SAN ANTONIO — Fiesta Gartenfest officially kicks off Wednesday at the Beethoven Männerchor, bringing a three-day German-style celebration to the Alamo City.
Fiestagoers will pack the biergarten when gates open at 4 p.m. to celebrate German culture and authentic cuisine. Plus, enjoy the sounds of Germany with a lineup of live entertainment you won’t want to miss.
Founded in 1867, the Beethoven Maennerchor is Texas’ oldest active singing society with 60 active singers and over 400 members.
Proceeds from Fiesta Gartenfest help the Beethoven Society preserve German music, language, customs, and culture in San Antonio.
San Antonio’s German history dates back to the mid 19th century.
Vendors will be serving up some mouthwatering German fan-favorite cuisine from bratwurst, to Reuben sandwiches, to Bavarian soft pretzels, potato pancakes and more. Plus, wash it all down with a selection of drinks including wine and 15 different German brews on tap!
Fiesta royalty including El Rey Feo and King Antonio will also pay a visit over the three-day celebration.
