GRANBY, Conn. — Two Granby police officers rescued an injured owl after a “close encounter with a vehicle” Saturday, according to the town’s police department.
Police said around 6 p.m. Saturday, Officers Abalan and Deloy came to the need of the owl after the incident left it “stunned and unable to fly.”
The police officers carefully scooped up the owl and helped it remain calm and safe, police said.
According to police, the owl returned to the skies “in no time.”
“A big hoot of appreciation for Ofc. Abalan and Ofc. Deloy – you two truly winged it tonight!” police wrote in the Facebook post.
