HOUSTON — A woman was shot by an FBI agent after allegedly threatening him with a machete on Houston’s south side, according to witnesses and surveillance video obtained from the scene. The incident occurred near Anderson Road and Del Papa Street.
Witnesses report that the woman had been beaten by several people shortly before the shooting. Surveillance video from a neighbor captured the moment when an FBI agent fired six shots at the woman, who investigators say was allegedly threatening the agent.
A witness who recorded the aftermath of the shooting, speaking anonymously, described seeing 4 to 5 people beating the woman prior to the gunfire. According to accounts from the scene, the woman entered a convenience store before returning outside with a machete and her backpack, apparently searching for those who had assaulted her.
“She was hitting the machete on the ground so nobody would go through the area,” one witness stated. The confrontation with the FBI agent occurred shortly afterward, resulting in the shooting when she allegedly threatened him.
Another witness, identified as Cynthia, reported that after being shot, the woman expressed that “she didn’t want to die.” The woman was transported to a local hospital, though updates on her condition have not been provided.
FBI agents returned to the scene the following day, spending hours marking the agent’s vehicle and collecting additional evidence. It remains unclear why federal agents were present in the mobile home park, though local residents suggest it might have been related to an immigration operation. Both the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have not responded to requests for comment on the incident.
