Woman accused of driving drunk, crashing into fatal accident scene

A woman faces serious charges after allegedly driving drunk through police barriers, injuring two deputies, and desecrating a body at a crash site.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A woman is facing charges after deputies say she drove drunk and ran over a man’s body at an accident scene late Friday.

The incident happened at State Highway 211 and Lambda Drive in west Bexar County Friday evening.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says it started when a 61-year-old man was walking along the road on Highway 211. That’s when he was clipped by one car’s mirror and fell. Officials say a second driver didn’t have time to reach and hit and killed the man after he fell.

While deputies were processing the scene, they say a woman drove through the police barriers and ran over the man’s body. She reportedly almost hit two of the investigators at the scene as well. Police say she also had the drug Khat in her posession.

She is facing charges of alleged DWI, abuse of a corpse and drug possession.

The first two drivers who hit the man stayed at the scene to assist and are not expected to face charges.
