CRYSTAL CITY, Texas — A woman was arrested Sunday night in Crystal City after Zavala County deputies say she became aggressive and assaulted officers while they responded to a domestic disturbance.
According to the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a residence on John F. Kennedy Drive on the evening of Feb. 15, 2026, for reports of an unwanted subject.
Officials said Sgt. K. Delgado arrived and witnessed a domestic disturbance in progress. Deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation and speak with the individual involved, identified as 36-year-old Ashley Aguillon.
The sheriff’s office said Aguillon became highly aggressive and non-compliant as deputies tried to take her into custody. During the struggle, she allegedly attempted to use a piece of furniture as a weapon and struck deputies multiple times with closed fists.
Aguillon was arrested and booked into the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office jail on charges of disorderly conduct and two counts of assault on a peace officer.
Two deputies suffered minor injuries and were evaluated at Dimmit Regional Hospital before being cleared to return to duty.
Officials noted that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
