Woman arrested after firing gun during argument on South Alamo Street, police say

A woman was arrested after police say she fired a gun during an argument on South Alamo Street, grazing a man as bystanders ran for safety.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was arrested after police say she fired a gun during an argument Saturday afternoon near downtown San Antonio.

Officers were called to the 400 block of South Alamo Street around 12:24 p.m. after reports of a heated dispute between two people.

According to San Antonio police, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were arguing when several bystanders stepped in and tried to calm the situation.

Witnesses told officers the argument escalated, and the woman then pulled out a handgun and fired multiple rounds into the air, causing everyone nearby to run for safety.

Police said the suspect followed the group as they fled and fired another round toward them. One bullet grazed the 29-year-old man, causing a minor injury.

Officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect shortly after the shooting. Police spoke with all parties involved at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing, and details may change as detectives continue their work.
