Woman arrested after locking boyfriend in North Carolina storage unit for days, police say

A woman has been arrested after she locked her boyfriend in a storage unit in Monroe for several days, according to court records obtained by WCNC Charlotte. 

Robin Deaton is facing first a degree kidnapping charge and a charge of attempted first degree murder.

Deaton locked her boyfriend in a storage unit on Feb. 20, leaving him there for almost 4 days, police said in a warrant. She is expected to be in court on March 17.

In a 911 recording obtained by WCNC Charlotte, the man calls for help from inside the storage unit. “I’ve been locked in this storage unit for about a week now,” he told the dispatcher, adding that he was just able to find his phone.
