The suspect allegedly told police she did “something,” but was so intoxicated after drinking six margaritas that she couldn’t remember everything that happened.
SAN ANTONIO — A woman has been arrested for allegedly cutting her neighbor and damaging several vehicles with a knife after officials say she had six margaritas.
On Jan. 2, around 7 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance call from a victim saying they had been cut on the arm by her next door neighbor with a knife.
Upon arrival, the victim told police they confronted their next door neighbor, identified as Kayleigh Lopez, when they saw Lopez scratching their vehicles with a knife.
When the victim approached Lopez, they stated that Lopez proceeded to cut them on the arm with the knife. Police took pictures of the victim’s arm and the scratches on the victim’s damaged vehicles which were both parked in the driveway, one with a cover on it.
Officials said Lopez had cut the cover off the vehicle and proceeded to cut the uncovered vehicle with the knife.
Police contacted Lopez where she reportedly identified herself being at the scene and stated she did “something,” but was so intoxicated after drinking six margaritas that she couldn’t remember everything that happened.
Lopez allegedly told authorities she would pay for the damages she caused to the vehicles, but refused to admit that she cut her neighbor with the knife. Lopez added that she had video of the incident, but what was provided to officials allegedly was of unrelated incidents.
On Jan.. 16, a search warrant of Lopez’s security system was executed and all video from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the night of the incident was requested.
On Jan 28, the videos were received and viewed by investigators. According to an affidavit, Lopez admitted to her mother that she did scratch the victim’s vehicles and is shown holding what appeared to be a knife. The footage reportedly showed Lopez in the same clothes from what the victim showed police when she went to the neighbor’s driveway and began scratching the vehicles.
Lopez can allegedly be heard threatening to kill the victim while her mother attempts to get her off the victim’s front yard.
In another video, Lopez allegedly stated that she also popped the victim’s tires while she was still reportedly holding a knife.
Lopez was arrested on a charge of intentionally causing bodily injury with a deadly weapon.
