SAN ANTONIO — A woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car on the northwest side Friday night, SAPD says.

Around 9:19 p.m. officials were called to the 11800 block of Bandera just outside 1604 for a major accident.

Police say a pedestrian from a vehicle in the parking lot on Bandera Road crossed Bandera towards the other side. Police believe she may have been arguing with someone, making her run off.

That’s when police say a white sedan hit her. The woman was taken to the hospital where she remains as of Friday night with life-threatening injuries.

The driver remained on scene and it’s unclear if they will be facing any charges.

Traffic going toward Helotes is currently being diverted through a Bandera Trails shopping center. No traffic going under 1604 towards Helotes as well.

Police believe the road will be closed for another hours and they investigate the scene.

This is a developing situation and KENS 5 will continue to update this article as we learn more.
