A 74-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on San Antonio’s west side, according to SAPD.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after police say she was struck by a vehicle on San Antonio’s west side Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a crash on the 900 block of South General McMullen at around 10:20 a.m.

According to SAPD, witnesses told investigators that a vehicle driving south on General McMullen had the green light as a woman, about 74-years-old, crossed the street.

Police said the woman, who was leaving a nearby H-E-B, was hit in the third lane and pinned underneath the car. She reportedly suffered traumatic internal injuries and a broken wrist. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver remained on scene and was cooperating with authorities, according to SAPD.

Investigators are speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance from a nearby business.

This is a developing story.
