Woman dead, man seriously hurt after northwest San Antonio shooting, police say

Police say a woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in an early Sunday morning shooting on San Antonio’s northwest side.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman is dead and a man is seriously injured after a shooting early Sunday morning on San Antonio’s northwest side.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 12:35 a.m. Sunday to the 5900 block of White Cloud, not far from Callaghan Road, for reports of a shooting in progress.

When officers arrived, they found two people with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police say a female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A 22-year-old man was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators say it is unclear what led up to the shooting, but witnesses told police the suspect entered the location, retrieved a firearm and then returned and opened fire on both victims.

The suspect, described by police as an 18-year-old man, fled the scene before officers arrived. No arrests have been made.

Multiple agencies responded overnight, including SAPD, the San Antonio Fire Department, EMS and Crime Scene Investigators, who worked to gather evidence.

Police say the case remains an active investigation, and the information released so far is subject to change.
