Woman dies while crossing the street, officials say

SAN ANTONIO — One woman has died after a hit-and-run incident on the northeast side Thursday night, according to police. 

The incident took place at the intersection of Harry Wurzbach and Timber Lane around 10:20 p.m. Thursday. 

Police say the woman was in her 20s and was crossing the street with a shopping cart when she was hit by a driver in a white SUV.

Officials say a witness saw the driver stop and then to take off. 

The investigation is ongoing.
