Police are investigating after a woman was found dead with apparent vehicle-related injuries along the I-35 access road Saturday afternoon.
SAN ANTONIO — Police are trying to identify a woman whose body was found Saturday afternoon along a busy stretch of Interstate 35 just north of downtown.
Officers were called to the 12600 block of the I-35 access road around 12:34 p.m. after a woman was discovered in the grass between the southbound main lanes and the access road.
When officers arrived, they found the woman with what they described as obvious signs of trauma to her body. Investigators believe the injuries were likely caused by a vehicle.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.
At this point, police say they do not have any suspect information, and it is still unclear when the incident happened.
The case is being investigated as an apparent sudden death. Police say the investigation is ongoing and details could change as they work to learn more about what happened.
