Woman found shot in a pickup truck in southeast Bexar County, officials say

Deputies confirm a woman was shot in the head in an area of southeast Bexar County Monday morning.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was shot in the head in a truck in southeast Bexar County Monday morning, deputies confirmed

The shooting happened in the 15500 block of Henze Road, near I-37 and Donop Road, around 9:30 a.m.

Bexar County deputies say when they responded to the scene, a woman in her 30s was found with a gun shot wound to the head inside of a silver Toyota truck. 

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was undergoing surgey at last check, officials said. 

Sheriff Javier Salazar said on the scene they are questioning a 67-year-old man as a person of interest. He says the man was in a romantic relationship with the woman. Salazar also noted that several witnesses were being questioned. No arrests have yet been made.

The couple was reportedly at the location collecting scrap metal when an argument broke out, according to Sheriff Salazar. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area shortly after.

Sheriff Salazar said he is hoping surveillance video from the area can shed more light on what led up to the shooting.
