Woman hospitalized after suspected hit-and-run crash downtown, SAPD says

Police said the woman sustained a head laceration and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

SAN ANTONIO — A 29-year-old woman was hospitalized early Saturday morning after a suspected hit-and-run downtown, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Officials say the crash occurred around 2 a.m. in the 900 block of North Main Avenue.

According to SAPD, the woman was driving a maroon Honda CRV northbound in the far right lane when an unknown vehicle traveling in the adjacent lane veered toward her vehicle. In an attempt to avoid a collision, police said the woman’s vehicle struck a utility pole ground wire and overturned.

Investigators said the driver of the other vehicle left the scene without stopping.

The woman sustained a head laceration and was transported to a local hospital. At last check, she was listed in stable condition.

Police said the suspect, once identified, will face a charge of Collision Involving Injury. The case remains under investigation.
