Woman in crosswalk hit by driver who did not stop, police say

The 65-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was hit by a driver who did not stop to help her northwest of downtown Saturday night, police say.

San Antonio Police responded to the intersection of West Avenue at Dresden Drive around 7 p.m. for reports of a hit and run accident.

When officers arrived, they found a 65-year-old woman injured. She told police she had been trying to cross the street in the crosswalk when a driver in a tan pickup truck turning onto West Avenue from Dresden Drive hit her, then drove away.

The victim was taken by EMS to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She is in stable condition.

When found, the driver of the tan pickup will be charged with one count of Collision Involving Injury.  

This case remains under investigation.
