SAPD is investigating the crash that left a woman dead early Wednesday morning along Bandera Road near Hillcrest Drive.
SAN ANTONIO — A woman died after she was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross Bandera Road in northwest San Antonio early Wednesday morning, authorities say. Police say the driver of the vehicle fled “without providing any aid.”
San Antonio officers were called to the 1800 block of Bandera Road, a couple blocks away from Hillcrest Drive, just before 6 a.m. Wednesday. According to an incident report, the woman was walking in the southbound lane of Bandera when she was struck by the vehicle heading in that direction.
Authorities said the victim was in her 60s.
“A witness traveling a few cars away saw the crash and stopped to assist the complainant,” the report stated.
Traffic was briefly redirected as investigators evaluated the scene.
