Woman killed in hit-and-run on west side, police say

A 49-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a light-colored truck that fled the scene early Sunday on the west side, according to police.

SAN ANTONIO — SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for a driver after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning on the city’s west side.

According to SAPD, the collision happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 3500 block of Culebra.

Police say a 49-year-old woman was walking across the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a light-colored truck traveling eastbound. Investigators say the driver did not stop to check on the woman and fled the scene.

Officers arrived to find the woman unresponsive with major injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is being investigated as a collision involving death. Police say the investigation is active and ongoing, and information may change as new details become available.

If the driver is located, they could face a charge of collision involving death.
