According to witnesses at the scene, the woman fell off the back of a motorcycle and that rider fled from the scene.
SAN ANTONIO — A late-night motorcycle accident on San Antonio’s northwest side took the life of a woman after she fell off the back of the bike.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were dispatched just after midnight Thursday to the 9500 block of Culebra Road near Tezel Road for a major accident involving a motorcycle.
Police say an adult woman, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, fell off the back of the bike for unknown reasons while traveling westbound. The driver then fled the scene without stopping to render aid, according to a newly released police report.
The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital, where she later died. Her identity has not yet been confirmed.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities say the information is subject to change as more details become available.
At this time, police have not released a description of the motorcycle or the driver involved.
