SAN ANTONIO — A woman was killed inside her own home after a drive-by shooting early Friday morning on the city’s south side, San Antonio police said.
Officers responded to a fatal shooting on the 900 block of Burton Avenue near Aaron Place around 12:45 a.m., where investigators say gunfire struck a house on the corner.
According to SAPD, a woman in her 30s was inside the home when a bullet pierced the wall and struck her in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the shots were fired from a white Toyota Prius that fled the area before officers arrived.
Five other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine what led to the gunfire and identify a suspect.
