Woman reunites with Smith County firefighter over prayer

Months earlier, while off duty, Holly had stopped to help her change a flat tire. This time, the ESD 2 team was once again there in a moment of need.

TYLER, Texas — Firefighters with Smith County Emergency Services District 2 responded to a call about a possible residential structure fire— but what began as a routine emergency ended with an emotional reunion.

Crews arrived on scene and quickly brought the situation under control. Officials say everyone inside the home was safe and the structure sustained only minor damage.

Once the scene was calm, the homeowner realized she recognized one of the first responders — Lieutenant Holly. Months earlier, while off duty, Holly had stopped to help her change a flat tire.

This time, the ESD 2 team was once again there in a moment of need — not just to protect her home, but to offer comfort. After ensuring the scene was secure, the group joined together to pray, thanking God for bringing them back into each other’s lives when it mattered most.
