Woman seriously hurt in stabbing during family dispute on east side, police say

A woman was seriously injured after being stabbed multiple times during a family dispute on the east side of SA.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after police say she was stabbed multiple times during an argument Saturday night on the east side of town.

Officers were called to the 500 block of Rotary near North Walters Street around 8:15 p.m. for reports of a cutting in progress.

When they arrived, police learned the 37-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were at the location to talk about a family matter. Investigators say the conversation turned into an argument.

At some point, police say the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman several times in her upper body.

Officers took the suspect into custody at the scene.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries. Her current condition has not been released.

The case is being investigated as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say the investigation is ongoing and details could change.
