Woman seriously injured after stabbing near VIA transit center on San Antonio’s west side

San Antonio police are searching for a man who stabbed a woman during an argument near a west-side VIA transit center Wednesday night.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was hospitalized in serious condition after being stabbed during an argument with a man Wednesday night on the city’s west side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The incident happened around 9:39 p.m. in the 3200 block of Northwestern Drive, near a VIA Metropolitan Transit center.

An SAPD sergeant said the suspect, believed to be a homeless man in his 60s, had previously been chased off the transit center property multiple times earlier in the evening.

Police say the man and a woman began arguing in a parking lot across the street from the transit center. During the confrontation, the man allegedly stabbed the woman in the side.

Emergency crews transported the victim to University Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition.

The suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

San Antonio police, VIA Police and EMS all responded to the incident. Authorities are continuing to search for the suspect.
