Woman seriously injured in hit and run crash in southwest SA, police say

A San Antonio hit-and-run leaves a 66-year-old woman seriously injured, prompting a police search for the driver who fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a woman seriously injured Saturday night on the southwest side of San Antonio.

Officers were dispatched to the 8600 block of South Zarzamora around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 for a major accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

According to San Antonio police, a 66-year-old woman was outside her home checking on her vehicle when she was suddenly struck by a driver in a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

The woman sustained serious bodily injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment.

No suspects have been apprehended at this time. 

The investigation remains active, and information is subject to change.
