SAN ANTONIO — A 23-year-old woman is recovering at the hospital after she was shot while driving on the far west side Wednesday night, according to San Antonio police.

Officers arrived to the area of Marbach and Loop 420 around 11:36 p.m., where an “unknown suspects inside of a white truck began to fire shots at the victim’s vehicle, striking the rear passenger side three times,” according to an SAPD preliminary report.

The victim crashed into a nearby utility pole in a restaurant parking lot while calling police. According to SAPD, she was shot once in the abdomen and taken to a hospital to be treated.

Authorities hadn’t made any arrests as of Thursday morning, however. The motive for the shooting is also unclear at this point as police continue to investigate.
