SAN ANTONIO — A woman was hospitalized after being stabbed during a confrontation with a man near a west-side transit center Wednesday night, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Officers were called to the 3200 block of Northwestern Drive around 9:39 p.m. for a reported cutting in progress.
Police said when officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old woman with a wound to her upper body.
According to investigators, the woman told officers the suspect had been loitering in the area and was asked to leave. Police say the man initially left but later returned and began causing a disturbance.
The woman asked the suspect to leave again, and that’s when police say the man pulled out a sharp object and stabbed her in the upper torso.
The suspect fled the area before officers arrived and was not located during the initial search.
The victim was taken to University Hospital for further medical treatment. Authorities have not released an update on her condition.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police say information could change as the case develops.
