
SAPD said a woman was crossing a busy south-side roadway with a shopping cart when she was struck by a vehicle Thursday evening.
SAN ANTONIO — A woman suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night while crossing a busy south-side roadway, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
The crash happened around 8:07 p.m. in the 1000 block of Southeast Military Drive.
SAPD said the pedestrian, a 42-year-old woman, was crossing northbound across the roadway with a shopping cart when a driver traveling eastbound struck her.
Investigators said the woman was crossing in an area not designated for pedestrian crossings.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and rendered aid following the collision. The driver also cooperated with officers during the investigation, according to police.
The woman was transported to a local hospital with major injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
