A woman recovering from serious injuries says finding Honey is now her biggest concern.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio woman badly hurt in a head-on crash is asking the public for help finding the dog she was separated from during the wreck.
The crash happened Thursday, April 16, around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Datapoint Drive and Fredericksburg Road.
Family members say the woman, who is in her late 20s, and her emotional support dog, Honey, were both thrown through the windshield of her SUV during the collision.
The woman suffered severe injuries and was rushed from the scene by ambulance. Loved ones say even while injured, she repeatedly asked first responders to find Honey, but emergency crews had to prioritize lifesaving medical care.
Witnesses reported seeing Honey running from the crash scene while yelping, whining and barking.
It is unclear whether Honey was injured or simply terrified after the violent impact.
Honey is described as a blonde Pitbull-Mastiff mix. Her owner says Honey is normally loving and gentle, but may now be scared or reactive because of trauma and possible injuries. Anyone who spots her is urged to approach carefully.
Loved ones say the woman misses Honey deeply and wants nothing more than to be reunited.
Anyone who has seen Honey is asked to call (726) 243-5577.
