Woman turns in significant other to police after suspecting he had criminal interests, while he was in car

Police say she found out on October 7, Garcia-Perez was following and retweeting pages with child pornography.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman basically handed her “significant other” over to San Antonio Police after investigators say she discovered the 18-year-old man was involved in child pornography on social media.

Police say she initially thought Kevin Lee Garcia-Perez was cheating on her.

An arrest affidavit says they shared a Twitter login and while the woman was doing detective work for infidelity, she found out her man had criminal interests instead.

Police say she found out on October 7, Garcia-Perez was following and retweeting pages with child pornography.

Two days later, she got out of a vehicle and showed SAPD her discovery. Garcia-Perez sat in the vehicle as this was happening.

Police later got a search warrant after viewing children between nine and 12-years-old engaged in sexual conduct on the account.

Investigators say they called the woman to get the 18-year-old suspect’s Twitter handle.

An arrest document says when the woman logged back onto the account she found a girl who looked to 10-years-old exposed and posing for a camera.

By mid-October, Twitter suspended the account and a tip got forwarded to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Meantime, police gathered the evidence they needed. Documents show the woman recorded the suspect confessing to selling child porn as well.

The Von Ormy man is being held on a $100,000 bond for possession or promotion of child pornography.
