San Antonio’s Women’s History Month events spotlight Latina and Indigenous filmmakers and celebrate women artists in March.
SAN ANTONIO — March is Women’s History Month, commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.
The month began as just a day, International Women’s Day on March 8. President Jimmy Carter then established Women’s History Week to be the first week of March, and it was extended through the month in 1987. International Women’s Day is still observed on the 8th.
