SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police say a wrong-way driver was arrested after a three-vehicle crash on the city’s northwest side left a woman seriously injured early Sunday morning.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 1 a.m. Sunday to the 11400 block of Interstate 10 westbound southbound lanes for a major crash involving three vehicles.
Investigators say a 41-year-old man was driving the wrong direction, heading northbound in the southbound lanes of I-10, when he first struck a truck.
Police say the suspect then hit a second vehicle, a sedan driven by a 47-year-old woman, causing her to suffer serious bodily injury.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers evaluated the driver for signs of intoxication, and he was later arrested on a charge of intoxication assault.
