Yanaguana Garden celebrates a decade of fostering community in San Antonio with a lively weekend of events.
SAN ANTONIO — One of San Antonio’s award-winning parks is celebrating 10 years in the community.
Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair opened a decade ago, bringing a new kind of urban park to the downtown area and was recently named USA Today’s seventh best playground in 2025.
“Yanaguana Garden is more than a playground or a park, it’s the heart of community,” said Melissa Robinson, Hemisfair’s Interim CEO. “For ten years, it has brought San Antonians together across all walks of life, and we look forward to the next decade of memories yet to be made.”
According to Hemisfair, the park was created in an effort to provide art, culture and various play areas to San Antonians and has become a popular gathering space – welcoming more than 5 million visitors in total.
In honor of its decade-old anniversary, Hemisfair is inviting the public to a jam-packed weekend, featuring live performances, interactive workshops, sports and family-friendly activities. The fun begins Friday Oct. 3 through Saturday, Oct. 4.
